James D Reeves, M.D

Dear New Patient,

I would like to tell you more about myself and my experience in orthopaedics. Originally from Clearwater, FL, I attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate degree as well as my medical degree. While in medical school, I was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and served as President of our chapter of the American Medical Association Medical Student Section. After the completion of medical school, I continued my training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where I specialized in orthopaedic surgery. While at the University, I was exposed to numerous complex cases in the various subspecialties of orthopaedics. In my spare time, I was the team physician for a local high school football team. In my final year of residency, I served as Chief Resident. Upon completion of my residency, I pursued a fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at the renowned Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Alexandria, VA. There, I received advanced training in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. In 2010, I joined Town Center Orthopaedic Associates. My practice focuses on hip and knee reconstructive surgery. This includes primary hip and knee replacement (arthroplasty) surgery as well as complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery.

I also have an interest in hip resurfacing arthroplasty and partial (unicompartmental) knee arthroplasty. My goal is to help my patients return to the activities they enjoy. I strive for patient satisfaction and excellent outcomes. Nothing is more satisfying for me, as a physician, than seeing patients back in my office after joint replacement surgery as they return to an active lifestyle.

I am honored to be a member of Town Center Orthopaedic Associates and look forward to meeting with you.

Sincerely,
James D. Reeves, M.D.

About Joint Replacement:
As a joint replacement surgeon, my practice focuses on treating patients with painful, debilitating conditions of their hips and knees. Such conditions include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, and post-traumatic osteoarthritis after previous fractures. Joint replacement is a very successful operation for decreasing pain and increasing function. Because there are many different options available, my goal is to educate patients about joint replacement so that they can make the most well-informed decisions for their particular condition. Successful joint replacement involves a multidisciplinary team approach including your surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and case managers. My belief is that a well-informed patient has a much more satisfying joint replacement experience. I look forward to meeting with you!
